Terms and Conditions – Learn the Law Limited

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before proceeding.

www.LearntheLaw.co.uk is the website of Learn the Law Limited a Limited Registered Company, registered in England and Wales under company number: 06346643 and has its registered office at 414 Blackpool Road Ashton-on-Ribble, Preston Lancashire PR2 2DX

Any person or organisation must understand that by ordering any of our courses, they agree to be bound by all these terms and conditions and any related terms or conditions to be found on the website or by discussion or written documents used prior to or at the point of contract. These terms and conditions must be accepted to be able to order any course from Learn the Law Limited

Learn the Law Limited reserves the right to refuse enrolment on to any of our courses

Website

Learn the law Ltd suspects any breach of security or misuse of their website, they reserve the right to change passwords or suspend accounts.

Students must not introduce, transmit, publish, possess or receive any obscene material

Students must not send a communication that is abusive, defamatory, obscene, menacing, illegal or offensive.

1.4 Website Links

If Learn the Law website provides links to other companies or legal articles it cannot guarantee that information on such sites is accurate and can take no responsibility for such inaccuracies.

1.5 Website Abuse

Students must not knowingly introduce viruses, Trojans, worms, logic bombs or any other malicious or harmful material. All access must be authorised. Students must not attack the website of Learn the Law Limited via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack. Any breach of this provision will lead to an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and will be reported accordingly

1.6 Learn the Law Limited will not be responsible for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses of other technologically harmful material that may infect student’s computer equipment, programs, data or other material due to the student’s use of the site.

1.7 No person or organisation is allowed to use any automatic device, including spider or robot or any manual process to monitor, copy or publish any part of Learn the Law’s website site

2. Student Requirements

2.1 Clients placing orders impliedly guarantee that they are

At least 18 years old and

Legally capable of entering binding contracts

2.2 Student Registration

Students must ensure their details are correct and complete. Any change in details must be notified to enable effective continuing support.

2.3 Student passwords

When students are given a password it is their responsibility to keep this password confidential and not to share it with any other person. Subject to 1.1 above

3. Payments

Course prices applicable are as quoted on the website at the time of contracting but are subject to change where required, at any time. This does not apply to contracts already in place.

Where there is an obvious error on the website in relation course prices Learn the Law Limited retains a discretion to charge a reasonable price. Any special offers prices are subject to availability and can only be claimed at the time the contract is entered.

If there is an incorrect lower price quoted verbally or on the website Learn the Law limited is under no obligation to supply the course at that price.

Payment for all courses must be by credit or debit card, via paypal or by bank transfer. Receipts of correct payments will trigger issue of course resources.

Payment by instalments may be agreed by the parties, the student must use a debit or credit card and agree that a monthly payment plan will be automatically debited from the students designated account, as identified in the instalment agreement

Students must ensure such accounts have sufficient funding to pay the monthly payment each time it is due. Failure to do so will result in an administration fee of £12. If no payment is made within 10 working days of the due date, the full amount will become payable plus an administration fee of £40 will be added to the account.

If payment remains outstanding for longer than 31 consecutive days Learn the Law reserves the right to pass the students details to an outside collection agency, who will be instructed to recover the balance plus an additional 15%.

Course Materials

Course materials are in electronic format and whilst Learn the Law Limited makes every effort to ensure they are safely transferable, they cannot take responsibility for any errors or problems to or caused by hardware or software used by the student.

Every effort is made to ensure course materials are up to date and accurate at the time of writing, but it students must be aware that law is a fluid science and subject to change. No commitment is undertaken by Learn the Law limited that the materials used will meet the student’s specific requirements and it is the responsibility of the student to verify the course in question is suitable for your needs

The student is required to inspect the materials upon receipt and report any obvious errors in typing, general defects or omissions of wording as soon as is practicable, using the same method as delivery of said materials. Whereupon Learn the Law Limited will endeavour to correct the error as soon as possible.

All intellectual Property Rights, course content and materials remain under the ownership of Learn the Law Limited at all times

Upon correct fee payment the student is granted non-exclusive, non-transferrable rights to use the materials. When the contract is terminated (by any means) this right is also terminated.

The student is obliged to keep all materials in strict confidence other than any disclosure that may be required by law.

Students are not to dispose, transfer, sell, license, publish, modify or use any Learn the Law materials in any form, other than with the express permission of Learn the Law Limited.

Contractual Requirements – making the contract

5.1 When an order has been placed the student will receive an email from Learn the Law Limited acknowledging that the order has been received. Te website constitutes an invitation to treat in English law and the student order constitute an offer to buy, which can or not be accepted by Learn the Law Limited. This acceptance will be confirmed by a response email from Learn the Law limited. It is at that point that the contract will be formed.

6. Cancellation rights

6.1 The student, acting as a consumer shall have the right to cancel the contract any time within seven working days after receipt of the materials. The cancellation must be in writing in the form of the contract – e.g. email. The student can only receive a refund if materials are paper based. Electronic materials do not attract any refund.

7. Protection of personal information/Privacy Policy

7.1 Learn the Law limited will endeavour not use a student’s personal information for any reason other than that which is needed to service the agreement with the student; this may include submission to a credit reference agency. However any potential disclosure will be strictly controlled and made in accordance with UK legislation, particularly the Data Protection Act 1998. This Act gives you the right to access information held about you.

7.2 Access to such information is possible by sending a £10 cheque (administration) made payable to Data Protection department, Learn the Law Limited 17 Mill Lane, Fulwood Preston, Lancashire PR2 3HD

8. Student responsibilities

8.1 It is the responsibility of the student to complete the course within a reasonable time limit. For an A/S level course it is usually one year and an A level course it is two years. This is particularly important if the student has entered themselves for examinations with external centres. If examinations have not been entered for, there is more flexibility.

8.2 It is the responsibility of the student to locate external examination centres, approach them and enter themselves for the appropriate examination, paying the required fees.

8.3 It is the responsibility of the student to submit written work as required by the course, to the marking tutor.

8.4 This section is also subject to all other clauses in the terms and conditions

9. Learn the Law Limited responsibilities

9.1 Learn the Law limited will support the student for a period of one year for A/S level and GCSE and two years for A level.

9.2 Learn the Law Limited will provide the student with all resources electronically, to enable completion of the chosen course.

9.3 Learn the Law Limited will provide suitably qualified and experiences tutors as dedicated support, who will mark all submitted work and make written reports to the student in response.

9.4 Learn the law Limited will provide regular contact sessions

9.5 This section is subject to all other clauses in the terms and conditions

9.6 The materials displayed on Learn the Law’s website and subsequent learning materials are

written as accurately as possible and Learn the law Limited can take no responsibility for accidental errors. This clause is also subject to 4.2

10. Indemnity

10.1 The student agrees to indemnify, hold harmless and defend Learn the law Limited, its employees and agents, from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, costs, actions or demands, including and without limitation to reasonable legal and accounting costs, alleging or resulting from your (the students) use or misuse of the Website, the courses and course materials or your breach of these terms and conditions of sale.

11. Law and jurisdiction

11.1 All terms and conditions for the purchase of courses via the Learn the Law Website will be governed by English Law.
